Modern History EDITOR

I am a PhD student in the History Department at Lancaster University. My PhD research looks at the place of Chris Morris’ work in the canon of British satire. I am focusing particularly on his television and radio programmes in the 1990s, his network of collaborators, and the contexts that surrounded them.

My MA dissertation focused on nostalgia for communism in the former German Democratic Republic, explored through material culture, place and film. Outside of academia, I have written for EPOCH on Brett Easton Ellis’ use of the physical geography of Manhattan in American Psycho, and attitudes to crime and punishment in ‘90s Britain.

I would welcome any modern history submissions, but I am particularly interested in politics and culture, literature, language and humour, in Britain and beyond.
